Gruss Euch, meine Lieben!
First of all we need to thank Kathy Knappitsch for hosting one of the
outstanding Easter events. Not only was the weather sublime, the
location lent itself perfectly to our scavenger hunt for the children and
had a great ambiance for the the eldest "children" (the rest of
us). Franz, we missed you, next time we hope you can stick around!
We had an incredible turnout, and we welcomed many guests. We also
added to our fold Nora and Richard Collins and their family as the
newest members. Nora comes from Bavaria, and as we all know,
Bayern is a province of Austria...
Next, really, really good news: Heinz Prast, one of our favorite local
Austrian chefs, has agreed to take up the mantle of
"Schnitzelmeister." We are truly fortunate that he will continue the
great tradition of the Schnitzelfest, started by yet another fantastic
Austrian chef, Norbert Gregor. Mahlzeit!
June 1 is fast approaching, and you know what? It is pool party time at
the Grunbaums! The pool will be heated, the jacuzzi will be bubbling,
and great food will be had, crowned by a sumptuous brisket to free
people from the chore of grilling. Bring your delicious "authentic"
Austrian side dishes and desserts, along with some appetizers, towels
and an enormous appetite. If you can, park around the corner on
Pearson.
Please report to Heidi. Let her know whether or not you will come,
what you will bring, and if you can help either in the setup (come a little
early) or the breakdown (stay a little late). We need more people in the
club to step up!
One last thing, please download the membership list, and check your
information. If we don't list your spouse or kids, please send that
information to Lin, along with any updates on your address, phone
number, etc.
