Saturday, June 6, 4:00 p.m. Hosts: Rick & Lin Grunbaum
Liebe Freunde, First of all, thanks to Robby and Anna Weber for hosting a delightful spring gathering in their backyard nature preserve. What a wonderful setting! I wish more of you could have conquered concerns over the threatening weather. As it turned out, we had a little thunder and lightening, plus just enough rain to feel a light sprinkle on our faces. Our confidence in Mother Nature was rewarded by delicious Palatschinken, cooked up by four Junior Chefs, trained and supervised by Robby: David Steinberger, Nils Collins, Callan Daugherty and Jax Weber. Kudos! I had half a dozen myself, and tipped the scale slightly upwards the next morning.
Due to the questionable weather, we all opted to skip the treasure hunt, but everyone was so engaged with the idyllic picnic setting, and with the Junior Chefs' Palatschinken flipping techniques, no one really missed it! Thanks again, Robby and Anna, for sharing your little slice of heaven!
Lin and I look forward to seeing you all at our house on Saturday, June 6, 4:00 p.m., for the much-anticipated Schnitzelfest & Summer Kick-off Pool Party. Once again, Chef Heinz Prast will donate his talent, time and energy to create delicious, mouthwatering Wiener Schnitzel!
As usual, the club will provide the libations, and you will provide the fabulous appetizers, side dishes and desserts! We expect a large turnout, so be sure to coordinate with Heidi as soon as possible about what to bring. Also, remember that we need help with setup and cleanup, so let her know if you are available.
Guests are welcome, as always, but for this event, please plan to contribute $10 per person for each non-member that you bring. Apropos of that, please don't forget to pay your annual membership dues!
Don't forget your swimsuits - the jacuzzi will be bubbling, and the pool will be heated! Just so you know, we'll have the event, rain or shine.
Auf Wiedersehen!
Emmerich
