Let me just say, the Annual Christmas Party was a stellar success! Thanks to all of you for being such a wonderful family. I sometimes have to pinch myself (or better yet, Lin) to believe that I'm so lucky to have you all.
I'm happy to report that we recently had a very successful board meeting. We now have a schedule of events for 2014, shown in the column to the right, and on our website.
The first event is our annual Faschingsfeier (mit Gulasch) & Membership Meeting. Since we sadly missed Gulasch at Marianne's, we decided to feature it at the Faschingsfeier, but with a twist. We invite our members to show off their cooking skills and share their favorite Gulasch recipe. Prizes will awarded for the best Gulasch!
Entries will be judged by our resident chef extraordinaire, Heinz Prast. First prize will be a $30 gift card, and second prize will be a $20 gift card. Here are the requirements: Notify Heidi that you will participate - we can accept a maximum of 8 entries.Use 2lbs of meat in your dish.Let Heidi know whether you plan to bring the Gulasch in a crock pot, or need to heat it on the stove top. There is limited space on the stove. For this event, the club will provide drinks as always, plus bread for the Gulasch, as well as prizes; members will supply salads and desserts. Imagine getting to taste all those different, delicious Gulasch delights!
Please let Heidi know if you will attend, whether or not you plan to participate in the contest, and if you don't participate, what side dish or dessert you will furnish.
Also, remember that this is a Faschingsfeier, so kids from 2 - 92, be sure to wear your costume! As usual, there will be prizes for the most fun and original costumes. Let's knock it out of the ball park and have a fantastic time!!
There will be a brief Membership Meeting with votes and reports, but we'll make it as painless as possible.
