AUSTRIAN INDEPENDENCE
DAY CELEBRATION
Fritzl's Euro Grill & Dessert Shop
Rowlett, TX
Grüss Euch Alle, Miteinander! We want to express our appreciation for a wonderful get together, graciously hosted by our fearless leader, Yasmine, and her darling husband, Jeff. Their beautiful home provided the perfect backdrop to a delightful evening of joyful camaraderie and delicious culinary treats.
Special thanks to Johanna, Yamine's mother, who made some authentic (and delectable) Burgenland pastries. Kudos to Jeff who proved himself a master of the smoker with his pulled, smoked pork. All the rest of you really outdid yourself too that evening, with wonderful dishes!
Last year, we had a first: we celebrated our Austrian Independence Day at "Fritzl's Euro Grill & Dessert Shop", and it was a true success. The place is the essence of gemütlichkeit. Klaus, the owner and chef, waiter and busboy, was incredible in his efficiency, and very entertaining. The food was generous, authentic and tasty. Let's go for a repeat performance on Thursday, October 23rd, 7:00 p.m.!
The restaurant is about a mile west of President George Bush Turnpike, on Lakeview Parkway (also known as Highway 66), so it's very easy to find. You can check out the menu on their website.
Please call Yasmine by 5:00 p.m., Monday, October 20, to RSVP, so we can give Klaus a headcount. We look forward to seeing you there.
Below is an important email from the Austrian Consulate in Houston. Some of you may have already received this, but I thought I should share it with you, just in case.
We advocated for this type of service when we we met with the Austrian Consul from Washington several years ago. They have been kind enough to provide the service and keep us notified, so be sure to take advantage of this and save the time and expense of a trip to Washington!
Auf baldiges Wiedersehen,
Emmerich
