We had a pleasant gathering at Fritzl's in late October, to celebrate Austrian Independence Day. We are already looking forward to next year's event!
I hope you have your calendars marked for our annual Christmas Party, Saturday, December 13, at 5:00 p.m. Remember that St. Nikolaus and Krampus will visit, so parents, be sure to bring your letters!
We're doing things a little differently this year, because I'm having surgery on December 11, and the only thing I anticipate being able to do is facilitate the program. On top of this, Yasmine and her boys are headed out to Europe on December 12, to help her grandmother celebrate a major birthday: 90 years old. We wish them all a grand trip!
So, we really need all of you to chip in and help out more than in past years, so I've setup Sign-Up Genius with a list of all the little tasks that make the party run smoothly, plus food dishes we need for the party. You can follow this link to select a task and to let us know what you will bring, or you can reply to the email from Sign-Up Genius. For those without access to email, Heidi will still make follow-up calls. St. Nikolaus and Krampus need a count of children who will attend by Tuesday, December 9, so parents, please check into Sign-Up Genius quickly!
Kathy Knappitsch and I will be organizing the Christmas program and we will need singers, instrumentalists and orators. Don't be surprised if you hear from one of us!
We are glad to report that our wonderful chef, Heinz Prast, will again make Venison Ragout as our main dish. There will be plenty of Glühwein on hand, along with all the regular drinks and libations. You'll see Semmelknödel (Thomas already volunteered for this!), salads and lots of other goodies to choose from on our Sign-up Genius list, or you can bring something else.
Here's the plan for the evening: Party begins at 5:00 with appetizers 5:30 - St. Nikolaus & Krampus make their appearance! After St. Nikolaus & Krampus - main meal After the meal - Weihnachtsfeier program After the program - dessert!!
Having you all here in our home for the Weihnachtsfeier is one of the highlights of our year. We look forward to seeing you and greeting you with a big warm hug!
