FASCHINGS PARTY

Letter from the President, February 2013

Dear Austrian Club DFW Members,

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a happy new year and also want to thank you for your confidence in voting for me to be president of our club! We held our annual board meeting on Sunday and I truly feel honored to have such a wonderful board. Really looking forward to 2013! We created a calendar of events which will soon follow, but I'm happy to share that we are mixing in some new event locations. I'm so sorry I had to miss the annual Christmas party and general membership meeting at Lin and Rick's house in December, but we moved that weekend. I heard it was a great success though, more or likely one of the best ones we've ever had. Thank you Lin and Rick for hosting this event year over year. I know it's a lot of work to host an event at ones home, but your home is so perfect for this particular event and I'm sure I speak for all members when I say thank you!

The Katzer family has kindly offered their home again to host the annual Faschingsparty on Saturday, 2.23.13, starting at 5 pm. As usual, the club will provide the main dish and drinks. Please contact Heidi to let us know whether or not you are coming, and if so, what authentic culinary delight you will bring to help make this event memorable. In addition, Petra may contact you to ask for a couple of volunteers to assist set up and keep items stocked and another of couple of volunteers to assist with clean up. Since we are a social club and all of us are volunteering, we believe it's only fair to share the fun, but also some of the responsibilities to make these events happen!

I also want to remind everyone that 2013 membership dues are due. Some families forgot to pay their dues last year, so please add them to this year's payment. Even tough we have increased the membership fees by $5 from last year and we are very diligently purchasing supplies for the club to keep costs at an absolute minimum, we are having to dip into other funds to cover costs. Therefore, any donations will be gladly accepted. I even thought about setting up a jar at each event and you can anonymously make a donation, even a couple of dollars or some change here and there go a long ways :)

I hope to see all of you soon!

Servus und Baba, Yasmine
