Liebe Freunde, First of all, thanks to Robby and Anna Weber for hosting the second spring gathering in the nature preserve behind their backyard. It was an intimate, but immensely fun gathering! Lara Collins put together the scavenger hunt, and our four Junior Chefs, David Steinberger, Nils Collins, Callan Daugherty and Jax Weber, trained and supervised by Robby, cooked up loads of delicious Palatschinken. Thomas cooked a fabulous Stelze that brought tears to my eyes! Kudos to everyone's creative talents!
Now to one of my favorite events of the year: the Schnitzelfest and Summer Kick-off Pool party. Lin and I look forward to seeing you all at our house on Sunday, June 5, 4:00 p.m., for the much-anticipated event. Once again, Chef Heinz Prast will donate his talent, time and energy to create delicious, mouthwatering Wiener Schnitzel!
As usual, the club will provide the libations, and you will provide the appetizers, side dishes and desserts! We expect a large turnout, so be sure to coordinate with Rick at 214-821-9272 as soon as possible about what to bring. Also, remember that we need help with setup and cleanup, so let him know if you are available to help out.
In anticipation of moving back to Washington state, Heidi has resigned as Sargeant-at-Arms and board member. We sadly accept her resignation, and obviously, we'll miss her sorely - she's done a great job helping the club organize events.
As usual, guests are welcome, but please plan to contribute $10 per person for each non-member that you bring. Apropos of that, don't forget to pay your annual membership dues!
Be sure to bring your swimsuits (Wolfgang, we still have your swimsuit hanging in the cabana from last year, so no nude bathing is necessary) - the jacuzzi will be bubbling, and the pool will be heated! Just so you know, we'll have the event, rain or shine.
